SOURCE/HOST: Produced in E. coli. Human OSF-2 (osteoblast specific factor 2) is fused at the N-terminus to a Xa cleavage site and a His-tag.
CONCENTRATION: 0.5mg/ml after reconstitution.
PURITY: ≥90% (SDS-PAGE)
PURITY DETAIL: Three-step procedure using affinity Ni-NTA chromotography and size exclusion chromatography before and after refolding.
FORMULATION: Lyophilized from sterile filtered solution in 0.05M acetate buffer, pH 4.0.
RECONSTITUTION: Reconstitute with 200µl of 0.1M acetate buffer, pH 4.0. If a higher pH is required, dilute to a concentration of ~10µg/ml. Solubility is limited in higher concentrations.
APPLICATION: ELISA, Western Blot.
SHIPPING: SHIPPED ON BLUE ICE
LONG TERM STORAGE: -20°C
HANDLING: Avoid freeze/thaw cycles. After reconstitution, prepare aliquots and store at -20°C.
General Information
OSF-2 functions as a cell adhesion molecule for pro-osteoblasts and is thought to be involved in osteoblast recruitment, attachment and spreading. Patients with bone metastases from breast (but not lung) cancer show elevated levels of OSF-2. OSF-2 expression is significantly increased by bone morphogenetic protein 2 (BMP-2).
