Product Description
Cell permeable peptide that blocks eNOS (NOS III) activity and cellular nitric oxide (NO) release in vitro and reduces inflammation and tumorigenesis in vivo. Caveolin-1 interacts with several lipid-modified signalling ligands, such as EGFR, eNOS, G-protein α-subunits, PKCα, H-Ras, and Src, via the C1-SD82-101 sequence.

General Information
Prostate apotosis response-4 (PAR-4) is a leucine zipper domain protein that is widely expressed in diverse normal and cancerous cell types and tissues. It is known as a tumor-suppressor protein that induces apoptosis in cancer cells, but not in normal/immortalized cells. The cancer-specific proapoptotic fuction of PAR-4 is localized in its central core SAC domain. Y. Zhao, et al. characterized a novel mouse model with ubiquitous expression of the SAC domain. Their findings provided genetic evidence that the SAC domain of PAR-4 confers cancer resistance in transgenic mice without compromising normal viability or aging, and may have therapeutic significance. PAR-4 has also been observed at ~18 times higher concentration in human brain tissue from Alzheimer patients when compared to unaffected brain tissue.

General Information
In 2006, T. Waerner, et al. characterized ILEI as a key player in both epithelial to mesenchymal transition and late-stage carcinoma progression. EMT is a process that involves changes in gene expression, cytoskeleton organization, cell adhesion, and extracellular matrix composition. This process is important during tissue formation and organogenesis, but also during cancer progression, metastasis and chronic inflammation. ILEI is overexpressed and/or altered in intracellular localization in multiple human tumors, an event strongly correlated to invasion/EMT, metastasis formation, and survival in human colon and breast cancer.

General Information

The ether-a-go-go related gene family of K+ channels (HERG/Erg) comprises three members, HERG1/Erg1, HERG2/Erg2, HERG3/Erg3. HERG channel activity is relevant to tumor cell biology. It controls cell proliferation, especially in leukaemias. HERG channels are thus considered novel diagnostic and prognostic factors in human cancers, as well as targets for anti-neoplastic therapies.
