CONCENTRATION: 0.5mg/ml
PURITY: ≥95% (SDS-PAGE). Affinity purified
FORMULATION: Liquid. In PBS.
BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITY: Facilitates Bax oligomerization and induces cytochrome c release in isolated mitochondria (~10-50ng/ml).
APPLICATION: Studies of Bid/Bax interaction and in vitro cytochrome c release.
SHIPPING: SHIPPED ON DRY ICE
LONG TERM STORAGE: -80°C
General Information
Bid is an abundant pro-apoptotic protein of the Bcl-2 family that is crucial for death receptor-mediated apoptosis in many cell systems. Bid action has been proposed to involve the mitochondrial re-location of its truncated from tBid, to facilitate the release of apoptogenic proteins like cytochrome c.
