Product Description
Rb Associated Protein 46, RbAp46, is a nuclear protein that has been shown to interact directly with retinoblastoma protein, Rb, and is a component of the mSin3 corepressor complex as are the histone deactylase proteins (HDACs). RbAp46 shares about 75% sequence identity with the closely related RbAp48, and appears to be functionally related to the yeast MSI1 protein in that overexpression of RbAp46 suppresses heat shock sensitivity in a RAS pathway dependent manner. RbAp46 has also been demonstrated to be up-regulated by the Wilms' tumor suppressor gene product, WT1. Additionally, cells transfected with RbAp46 have shown strong inhibition of growth.

General Information
SIRT1 is a member of the silent information regulator 2 (Sir2) family. It is an NAD
+
-dependent deacetylase protein that functions in cell death / survival, senescence, and endocrine signaling. It is also involved in the increase of life span following caloric restriction [1]. Recently, the first direct activator of SIRT1 has been described: AROS (active regulator of SIRT1) [2]. This nuclear protein of 142 amino acids interacts with SIRT1 and enhances SIRT1-mediated deacetylation of p53.
