SPECIFICITY:	Recognizes human, mouse and dog Pin1. Detects a band of ~16 kDa by Western blot.
APPLICATION:	Western Blot (0.5µg/ml for HRPO/ECL detection). Recommended blocking buffer CPPT: 10mM TRIS-HCl, pH 7.4, 0.5% (w/v) casein, 1% (w/v) PEG 4'000, 1% (w/v) polyvinylpyrrolidone, 0.1% (v/v) Tween 20, 150mM sodium chloride.

General Information

Pin1, a member of the parvulin family of peptidyl-prolyl-cis-trans-isomerases (PPIases), specifically isomerizes only the phosphorylated Ser/Thr-Pro bonds in certain proteins like Bcl-2, Cdc25C, Cdc27, p53 and Tau. Binding of Pin1 to p53 stimulates the DNA binding activity and transactivation function of p53. Pin1 also regulates the expression of cyclin D1 and is strikingly overexpressed in a subset of human tumors like breast cancer and oral squamous cell carcinoma.
