Product Specification
MW: ~49kDa (SDS-PAGE).
SOURCE/HOST: Produced in HEK 293 cells. The extracellular domain of mutated hThy-1, hThy-1 (RLE) (aa 20-130), is fused to the Fc portion of human IgG1. The integrin binding sequence RLD of hThy-1 has been changed to RLE abolishing the binding of integrins.
CONCENTRATION: 1mg/ml (after reconstitution)
PURITY: ≥90% (SDS-PAGE)
FORMULATION: Lyophilized. Contains PBS.
RECONSTITUTION: Reconstitute with 50µl sterile distilled water. Further dilutions should be made with medium containing 5% fetal calf serum or a carrier protein.
SPECIFICITY: Does not bind to β3-integrin nor to any of a large number of tested TNF-superfamily members including rhsTRAIL, rhsCD40L, rhsAPRIL, etc.
APPLICATION: Control compound for Fc Tagged Proteins, ELISA, Flow Cytometry, Functional Application (serves as a negative control in functional assays of TNF-superfamily members).
SHIPPING: SHIPPED ON BLUE ICE
LONG TERM STORAGE: -20°C
USE/STABILITY: Stable for at least 6 months after receipt when stored as recommended.
HANDLING: Avoid freeze/thaw cycles. After reconstitution, prepare aliquots and store at -20°C.

Product Description
Negative control for Fc chimeric proteins. Does not bind to a series of ligands in an ELISA assay. Does not inhibit binding between the thymoma cell line EL-4 expressing β3-integrin and astrocytes expressing high level of Thy-1 in mice.

General Information
Thy-1 is a glycosyl phosphatidylinositol (GPI)- anchored glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin superfamily expressed in various cell types, particularly in T-lymphocytes and cells of the neuronal system. Thy-1 is involved in cell adhesion, and the presence of a RLD motifs, which is recognized by intengrins, strengthen the hypothesis that the Thy-1:integrin interaction is responsible for cell attachment. In astrocytes, binding of Thy-1 to β3-integrin triggers tyrosine phosphorylation of focal adhesion proteins.
MANUFACTURER Manufactured by Apotech Corporation.
