SPECIFICITY: Weakly cross-reacts with dog, monkey and rabbit TRAP5. Does not cross-react with mouse and rat sera.
APPLICATION: For the quantitative determination of TRAP5 in serum and EDTA plasma. The kit measures only the TRAP5 proteins exhibiting enzymatic activity. Total assay time is less than four hours.

General Information
TRAP5b is claimed to be a specific marker of bone resorption [2-4]. Both osteopontin and bone sialoprotein are colocalized with TRAP5 in the resorption lacuna of osteoclasts and dephosphorylation of osteopontin impair its ability to promote adhesion as well as migration of osteoclasts in vitro [5].
