Abstract
General Information
The ether-a-go-go related gene family of K
+
channels (HERG/Erg) comprises three members, HERG1/Erg1, HERG2/Erg2, HERG3/Erg3. HERG channel activity is relevant to tumor cell biology. It controls cell proliferation, especially in leukaemias. HERG channels are thus considered novel diagnostic and prognostic factors in human cancers, as well as targets for anti-neoplastic therapies.
