SPECIES CROSSREACTIVITY:	Human Mouse

SOURCE/HOST:	Produced in HEK 293 cells. The extracellular domain of mouse Fn14 (aa 1-75) is fused to the Fc portion of human IgG1.
CONCENTRATION:	Fn14:Fc: 1mg/ml after reconstitution. Fn14:Fc-FITC: 1mg/ml.
PURITY:	≥95% (SDS-PAGE)
FORMULATION:	Fn14:Fc: Lyophilized. Contains PBS. Reconstitute with 50µl sterile water. Further dilutions should be made with medium containing 5% fetal calf serum. After reconstitution, prepare aliquots and store at -20°C. Fn14:Fc-FITC: Liquid. In PBS containing 0.02% sodium azide. For maximum product recovery after thawing, centrifuge the vial before opening the cap. After opening, prepare aliquots and store at -20°C.

General Information

The fibroblast growth factor-inducible-14 (Fn14) is a 129 aa type Ia transmembrane protein. Fn14 is a growth-factor regulated, immediate-early response protein. It is expressed in a developmental and adult tissue-specific manner. Fn14 expression decreases cellular adhesion to extracellular matrix proteins fibronectin and vitronectin and reduces cell growth and migration. It is expressed at high levels in liver cancer cells, in hepatocellular carcinoma specimens as well as in regenerating liver cells showing Fn14 may play a role in hepatocyte growth and liver neoplasia. Fn14 has recently been described to bind TWEAK [Apo-3 Ligand], a member of the TNF family.
