Product Specific Literature References
Essential role for collectrin in renal amino acid transport: U. Danilczyk, et al.; Nature 444, 1088 (2006) Abstract
General Information
Collectrin is a catalytically inactive homolog of angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2). It binds to SNARE complex by interacting with snapin. Collectrin shows interesting physiological roles related to insulin seccretion, formation of primary cilia, renal cyst formation and amino acid transport. Collectrin is therefore considered as a target for various pathological processes such as diabetes, polycystic kidney disease, hypertension and aminoaciduria.
