Product Description
GALP is a 60 amino acid peptide that, unlike galanin, has a non-amidated C-terminus. GALP (aa 9-21) is identical to the biologically active N-terminal (aa 1-13) portion of galanin. Receptor binding studies revealed that GALP has a high affinity for the galanin receptor 2 (IC50=0.24nM) and a lower affinity for the galanin receptor 1 (IC50=0.48nM). GALP is therefore an endogenous ligand that preferentially binds to galanin receptor 2, whereas galanin is relatively non-selective.

Product Description
Ghrelin, a 28 aa peptide predominantly produced by the stomach, is an endogenous ligand for the growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHS-R) that potently stimulates growth hormone release. Recent studies suggest that peripherally or centrally administrated ghrelin, independent of growth hormone, decreases fat oxidation and increases food intake and adiposity. In addition, plasma ghrelin levels are lower in obese human subjects. Ghrelin promotes the production of orexigenic neuropeptides (neuropeptide Y and agouti-related protein) in the hypothalamic arcuate nuclei and activates the neurons which produce these orexigenic neuropeptides, resulting in an increase in feeding and body weight and thereby opposing the effects of leptin. Moreover, ghrelin shows regulatory effects on the cardiovascular and immune system.

Product Description
ATP-dependent K+ channel blocker in the pancreas, which in turn causes intracellular Ca2+ levels to rise and for insulin to be secreted. Antidiabetic. High affinity binding sites have been identified in the cardiovascular system, the CNS, and pancreatic beta cells. Large potency differences are observed between pancreatic tissue and vascular tissue.
