General Information
Collectrin is a catalytically inactive homolog of angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2). It binds to SNARE complex by interacting with snapin. Collectrin shows interesting physiological roles related to insulin seccretion, formation of primary cilia, renal cyst formation and amino acid transport. Collectrin is therefore considered as a target for various pathological processes such as diabetes, polycystic kidney disease, hypertension and aminoaciduria.

General Information
Adiponectin is involved in controlling the whole-body metabolism, particularly by increasing insulin sensitivity in muscle and liver, and by increasing fatty acid oxidation in muscle. CTRP2 belongs to a new highly conserved family of adiponectin paralogs designated as C1q tumor necrosis factor-alpha-related proteins (CTRPs) 1-7. CTRP2 (mouse) has been reported to rapidly induce phosphorylation of AMP-activated protein kinase, acetyl-CoA carboxylase, and mitogen-activated protein kinase in C2C12 myotubes, which resulted in increased glycogen accumulation and fatty acid oxidation.
