FORMULATION: Lyophilized. Purified from mouse ascites containing 0.05% sodium azide.
RECONSTITUTION: Reconstitute with PBS.
IMMUNOGEN: Purified chicken PR (progesterone receptor).
SPECIFICITY: Recognizes the B form of human, mouse, rat, sheep, rabbit, bovine, chicken and guinea pig PR. Detects a band of ~110kDa in chicken and rabbit, and a doublet or triplet band of ~120kDa in human by Western blot. Does not cross-react with ER (estrogen receptor) or GR (glucocorticoid receptor).
APPLICATION: Immunocytochemistry

General Information
Avian and mammalian PR isolated from tissue soluble extracts can exist in one of two different molecular forms A and B. Human PR consists of a 94kDa A form and a 120kDa B form. Chicken PR consists of a 78kDa A form and a 110kDa B form. Alpha PR6 reacts with both the 120kDa B form of human PR and the 110kDa B form of chicken PR.
