Product Description
Cell permeable, potent inhibitor of interaction of Raf kinase inhibitor protein (RKIP) with Raf1 kinase. Blocks eukaryotic cell migration (IC50=14µM for inhibition of wound closure in MDCK cell monolayers). Inhibitor of early development in frog embryos and tissue dynamics in embryonic explants. Displays no antibacterial activity.

General Information
c-Raf is an important kinase in the transmission of extracellular stimuli to the nucleus. Mitogenic stimulation of cells induces hyperphosphorylation of c-raf in multiple serine, threonine and tyrosine residues. Phosphorylation of Ser43, Ser259 and Ser621 has been implicated in the negative regulation of raf. Phosphorylation of Ser43 interferes with ras binding, Ser259 and Ser621 represent binding sites for the 14-3-3 proteins.
